Meal waste oil has become an important resource that developed countries are eager to purchase. In the first half of the year, the United States imported about 1 million tons, of which 60% came from China. The United States imports a large amount of meal waste oil for the production of advanced biofuels, including biodiesel and sustainable aviation fuel. Advanced biofuels have green and low-carbon characteristics and can be widely used in the fields of automobiles, ships, and aviation, making them an ideal choice for achieving carbon reduction. The European Union and the United States actively promote the development of advanced biofuel industries and have formulated relevant policies and goals
China is also an important producer and exporter of biodiesel globally, but the domestic market demand has not yet formed a scale, and most of the products are exported to the European Union. China has a certain production capacity in sustainable aviation fuel, but the supply and demand market is still in the early stages of development. As of the end of 2023, there are 2 related projects in operation in China, and 5 projects that have not yet been put into operation or are in the planning stage. Zhenhai Refining has achieved sustainable mass production of aviation kerosene with a production capacity of 100000 tons per year
China is currently in a critical period of promoting the construction of a strong country and is expected to make greater progress in the field of advanced biofuels
